Processing

While AFA is a mechanical components manufacturer, they are first and foremost a competent partner, able to support the customer in any design need with 3D software and the moulding of mechanical components for motors.

Afa has been on the market since 1973, and the company was founded – initially as a turning shop – by brothers Attilio and Gianfranco De Giorgi. The company specialises in producing parts for electric motors and components for thermohydraulics. Very quickly, as soon as it was founded, the company began building the first rudimentary dies for cold moulding.

After initially relocating to the Paitone site, they relocated again – in 1989 – to today’s site in Villanuova. The structure gradually expanded, always thanks to the special organisational and technical abilities of the De Giorgi brothers: it reached the 4 thousand indoor square metres of today’s facility, which also features underground parking.

Metal hardware and mechanical components

Production at Afa De Giorgi focuses on the manufacture of metal hardware, components for thermohydraulics and electric motors. National and international companies use Afa’s products: large companies that operate specifically in the production of motors for cars and home appliances, as well as companies linked to the thermohydraulics and precision mechanics sectors.

This avoids the production of non-compliant mechanical hardware and materials: the entire creative process is followed from the onset to the complete manufacture of the product, always in the name of high safety and reliability standards. Afa De Giorgi’s declared objective is to constantly innovate how they work, aiming to maintain an extremely high technological standard. The machines for automotive cold moulding are precise and fast: they use stainless steel sheet drawing dies.

Precision metal hardware can also be manufactured directly at the company, using any type of galvanic finish treatment (plating, zinc plating) and can be supplied with tumbling, threading and oiling. All of this thanks to the current collaboration with highly efficient and quality subcontracted suppliers, in addition to being linked through relationships of loyalty.
Afa De Giorgi, based on the skills developed over the years and, therefore, on the earned specific and precious know-how, is able to define the most suitable moulding parameters. Some materials are more commonly used, and these are stainless steel, carbon steel, and carbon brass.
